It appears that Vodafone has mistakenly applied an age restriction to NFED and other sites, categorising them as containing adult content. I have already contacted Vodafone and hope to resolve this issue promptly.
If you're experiencing difficulties accessing NFED, you can add it to your list of safe sites or access it via WiFi. While disabling the age restriction will allow the site to load normally, this option is not recommended for users under 18, as it may expose them to genuine adult content.
NFED does not contain adult content. We strive to maintain a safe environment for users of all ages and fully support the work of the Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre (CEOP). Additionally, we adhere to the Good Practice Guidance for the Moderation of Interactive Services for Children.
Any updates will be posted below..

Saturday 31st May "I've been running a website since 1999 http://nfed.co.uk but have noticed it is blocked by Vodafone due to adult content? It is a local equestrian website, no adult content & many junior users, but the only way they can see it is by turning off the adult filter. How do I get this issue resolved? The site is safe for all ages & fully endorses the work of the Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre http://ceop.gov.uk. We abide to the Good Practice Guidance for the Moderation of Interactive Services for Children, I don't want to suggest turning of safety filters."
Hello there, thanks for reaching out to us. We understand that you're looking to re-classify your website as it is being blocked. We can certainly help you with. May I know how would you like the website to be re-classified as?
Hi. It is an equestrian information resource for all ages. Contains classified advertising, local events & business advertising. So however that fits in with your categories. Thank you.
Thank you. Can you help me with the screenshot of the page where it says site is blocked, so that I can share this with our team.
I've turn off the adult content filter on both mine & wife's phone so can no longer see this! The url is http://nfed.co.uk as far as I know this is a recent issue?
If this is really needed, please get back to & I'll turn the filter back on. Steve
To save time I've turned it off again :-)
Can you please try to access the URL: http://nfed.co.uk and let me know if it is working or not?
I will have to turn the age restriction back on again, it is working with it off.
No, it is only working with age restriction disabled.
I understand that you want Vodafone to make it accessible to all website users without any age restrictions. Is that correct?
Yes please

Hi, just wondered if you have any updates on this issue?
Tuesday 3rd June
Ongoing Issue with Adult Content Filter Blocking Website Access Hi, I was hoping this issue would have been resolved by now, but I’m still unable to log into my own website using a mobile device unless the adult content filter is turned off. As I’ve previously mentioned, my website contains no adult content, and I cannot expect younger users to disable the filter just to access it, as this would expose them to risks on other sites. This restriction is impacting my customer base and needs to be addressed. If you’re unable to assist, could you please advise on the steps I should take to resolve this issue?
Thursday 5th June
As no response received from Vodafone through X. Complaint submitted to Vodafone.
Friday 6th June
Call received from Vodafone following up on the complaint. No immediate resolution, but the issue is being looked into.
Monday 9th June
Second Call received from Vodafone. Still no immediate resolution, but the issue is being looked into.
Saturday 14th June
Third Call received from Vodafone. Still no resolution.
Wednesday 18th June
Final call received from Vodafone, (see below). It's good to know that the NFED has not been blocked & speaking to friends they seem to be getting the issue intermittently with many other sites. It seems that if the connection fails, it first gives the security warning, followed by the adult content alert.
Our IT department have completed the internal testing on the website www.nfed.co.uk and can confirm we don't believe this is a Vodafone error or restriction preventing customers from accessing your site. We can confirm we've conducted testing with and without an age restriction content bar and both can access www.nfed.co.uk.Moving on, should you have any further issues we'd advise you to contact your website provider or conduct further independent IT testing as we don't believe this is a Vodafone error.
We weren't aware, but the card payments were disabled on the 13th May which removed the card option from the shopping cart. PayPal & Bank Transfers were unaffected.
They have now been switched back on & working normally.
The payment option buttons have been updated, so have a different look but work the same.
Apologies to anyone that had problems trying to submit an advert payment.
Here’s Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year
The NFED will be running normally over the holiday period, but there will be no newsletter on the 24th or 31st December.
Steve & Claire x
We are currently having issues with emails sent to icloud addresses being blocked by Apple servers. No other email providers seem to be affected.
Both Apple support & our hosting company are looking into it to get it resolved as quickly as possible.
If you have an advert with either type of account, pleased either turn off email replies, change the email to a different provider such as Gmail or include your email in the advert text.
If you think that you may have missed any enquiries, please contact us providing a non Apple email address & the enquiry back ups can be forwarded on to you.
Any updates will be posted here.
Update 22-11-24
The issue has now been resolved & Apple users are receiving Emails ok. Missing enquiries have been sent to all advertisers that use iCloud email, so apart from the four day delay there shouldn't be any problems.
We have had the following back from our hosting company who have been dealing directly with Apple.
We are glad to hear that the issue is resolved. It seems that the issue was not caused by your server. We are sorry for the inconveniences caused. In case you face any email deliverability problems you may always contact us.
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding and patience.Should you have any other questions or concerns feel free to contact us.
It looks like the problem with Facebook posts being removed as spam is pretty widespread & affecting many news publishers, so although frustrating it's not anything we've done.
The good news is that most visit the main site directly & many more subscribe to the newsletter than follow our Facebook page. We have had two previous Facebook pages removed & this made very little difference to our daily traffic, but I'll continue posting & try to get to the bottom of the issue.

A new link has been set up to make it easier to share multiple events from the same person/venue/club.
For example, https://www.nfed.co.uk/calendar/search.php?ref=shedfield will list all events from Shedfield Equestrian.
https://www.nfed.co.uk/calendar/search.php?ref=tooley will list all events from Rebecca Tooley & so on. Just change the last part to include the name, keep it simple & no spaces.
Copy & paste it wherever you want to share the events or send it to friends, members, clients.
Each individual event still has it’s own link, which can be seen using the share buttons at the top.
Improved Event Tags The new diary uses tags rather than categories. Multiple tags can now be added to an event, clicking on a tag will show other events with the same tag. Many new tags have been added & others will be added as required.
Having a play with the diary is far better than trying to explain it here!
Don't forget to try the three different views: Monthly, Agenda & Pinboard
The new calendar has three viewing options, Monthly, Agenda & Pinboard. As the built in menu was a little on the small size, new larger buttons have been added to the top of the calendar.
All three views are very different & useful, so feel free to have a play.
If you don’t see the buttons, try refreshing the page.
I have found a slight issue where listings that do not have a map displayed fail to load correctly. All the details are there, but the formatting is incorrect.
All advertisers affected have been contacted with options to show the map.
UPDATE 22-09-24The majority of advertisers contacted have happily had the maps turned on. The remaining listings that have not got back to us, now have the maps turned on with rough area showing. No personal details have been shown, nearly all have the same details are already showing on their own websites or social media pages.
As I haven't had any joy with the software company, this is the only way to get around this issue, get everything working & move on.
The submission form has been updated to give the following Map & Address Options
Display Exact Map & Business AddressDisplay Map & Partial AddressDisplay Rough Map Nearest Town & Area Covered

The site has now been migrated to the new server & the old server disabled. There will be connection issues to start with as the IP address has changed, different ISPs will take a while to refresh & find the new site, this can take a few days to settle down.
If you see a “This Account has been suspended” message, you are seeing the old server.
If you have any problems, please first refresh the page, then clear your internet history & try again.
The site is now running on a faster server with the latest software. Some of the older sections weren’t compatible with the newer software, so have been updated or changed completely, such as the event diary.
All data (classifieds, directory listings & events) have been copied across. The news pages were mainly old news, so will be started again on the new system.
Don’t forget that the old event diary has been replaced, so any previous event links will not work, but should take you to the new diary. Events can now be shared individually using the links at the top.
There will aways be teething problems, but I will try to sort these out as they come up.
This has been a huge & unexpected operation. To be honest I had to seriously consider whether to do it, or simply shut the site down & enjoy my retirement. But now it is nearly completed, I’m glad I decided to stick with it & hopefully the site will be ok for a few more years yet!
