NFED Classified Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Where Will My Advert be Displayed?

All approved adverts appear in the main Classifieds sections on the NFED website. After more than twenty‑five years online, the NFED has built a large and loyal audience of daily visitors, most of whom regularly browse the Classifieds.

Featured & Paid Adverts
Paid and Featured Adverts also appear in promotional widgets across the NFED, including the homepage, giving them extra visibility. These widgets automatically scroll through the latest adverts, showing the headline, a short description, and a direct link to the full advert.

Newsletter Exposure
Our weekly newsletter includes headlines from *offered* adverts posted over the previous 10 days. This means most adverts appear in the newsletters, reaching over 12,000 subscribers, plus both of our social channels — a significant bonus at no extra cost. Click Here to see the latest newsletter.

Search Engine Listing
A fresh site map is generated daily and submitted to both Google and Bing. This ensures new adverts are quickly indexed by the major search engines.

XML Feeds
Featured Adverts are added to our XML feeds, making it easy for other websites — and anyone using an XML reader — to display them. As with our widgets, the feeds present the advert’s headline, main image, a short intro and a direct link back to the full listing.
The XML Feed address is: http://www.nfed.co.uk/rss/classifiedsrss.xml

Social Media Sharing
Suitable adverts may be shared on our social media channels, Facebook and X unless you ask us not to. Sharing is always subject to the advert being appropriate for the platform and meeting community standards.

Please note that we cannot control posts removed by Facebook or X, so we cannot guarantee that a shared advert will appear or remain online. We always do our best to maximise exposure while protecting the integrity of our Facebook and X pages.

All shared posts link directly back to your main advert, allowing people to contact you easily and privately without accessing your social media profile. This provides an important safety barrier for advertisers. Once your advert is removed from the NFED, the link will no longer work, preventing enquiries from old or outdated posts that may still appear on social media.

Important: Facebook Community Standards
Facebook does not allow the sale or exchange of animals between private individuals. Because of this, we cannot share adverts on Facebook if the title suggests the advert is for an animal being bought, sold, offered, or wanted.

If you would like your advert shared on Facebook, only include the animal’s details in the title (for example: “14.2hh Connemara Gelding”) and avoid any wording that implies buying, selling, offering, or wanting.
