I am a Natural Horsemanship instructor, trainer and teach Rider Confidence clinics. I've taken 3 months + to start this lovely pony and taken plenty of time to get all the basics right and solid. He is now ready to go into whatever career comes next: Pony Club, Happy Hacking, Western or whatever.
He is super friendly, quiet, calm, responsive and loves to be cuddled, fussed and very much a people-based pony!
He's now hacking out nicely in company first or last on the forest. An 11year old who's ridden 13 times has ridden him twice off the lead rein with us and taught her to get used to cantering. We ride about 7 miles most evenings and with capable children along so he's used to total chaos of kids cantering off randomly and jumping logs willy nilly around him.
He's starting to hack on his own. He's well balanced, sure footed, and as a forest-bred pony is super chilled on the open heath and forest, and in full Beaulieu tourist traffic.
He's happy to walk, trot, canter, gallop, back-up, some laterals, and jumps little SJ's, and logs / ditches on the forest. He marches thru puddles and streams. Is good w all traffic incl motorbikes, buses etc. He ride/lead's and lead's/ride's either way around. Loads nicely.
He's well desensitised to weird human life, umbrellas, flags, flappy stuff. My dog comes out on every ride w us and he lives on a pheasant shoot - so is very good for stuff jumping out under his feet. And best of all - I taught him a useful mounting block pickup trick which is super useful!
Teeth, vaccs, wormed, feet all up to date. Fit and ready to go.
I'm hoping he'll go locally and I'd like to stay in touch in the future. I know his full life history and previous owners well too.
I'm happy to provide references to other lovely and now local ponies I've sold in the last few years - www.coachandhorses.uk or Horse Sense Rachel Parsons on FB.
