Weekend groom required to look after these majestic heavy horses. Jobs include but are not limited to Feeding, turning out, mucking out, hoof picking, grooming, cleaning water troughs, and general day to day duties to keep the yard clean.

There is the possibility of attending shows but this is not a must.

The ideal candidate will have previous livery experience and likes to work alone as you be the only groom looking after 7 stabled horses and two that live out.

Experience is essential although not necessarily heavy horses.

We are looking for a reliable and practical self-employed Maintenance Person to join our friendly team on a part-time basis at Quob Stables. The ideal candidate would be comfortable around horses and happy to help bring in/ turn out horses as well as have all round maintenance skills, and tractor driving experience.

Responsibilities include:

•Fencing and stabling repairs and upkeep
•Harrowing the arenas
•Strimming and grounds upkeep
•Turning out and bringing in horses

🐴 Sunday Yard Position – Sway 🐴

Our current weekend girl has had to drop a day, so we’re now looking for someone friendly, reliable and experienced to join our team and work Sundays.

We’re a small, friendly private yard based in Sway, with six horses. The role involves general yard duties. There is also the possibility of minimal riding, mainly taking some of our older horses out for gentle hacks. Occasional additional days may also be available if wanted.

Hours: 8am–11am, 2 hour break, 1pm–4:30pm

You’ll usually be working alongside another member of the team, although there may be the occasional day where you’ll be required to work alone.

A level of experience is required. We’re looking for someone who is confident, reliable and has a calm and caring approach to the horses.

Due to our current Saturday Coach being offered an exciting opportunity overseas, we are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and horse-focused Session Leader to join our wonderful Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) team on Saturday mornings.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with both people and horses and would like to take responsibility for overseeing the smooth running of our Saturday morning RDA sessions.

The Role

As Saturday Session Leader, you will help coordinate and oversee the morning’s activities, working alongside our RDA Group coaches, groom and volunteers.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the smooth and safe running of Saturday RDA sessions
Supporting coaches, volunteers, riders and families throughout the morning
Helping organise riders, volunteers and horse combinations
Overseeing horse care, preparation and general yard duties
Monitoring horse welfare and ensuring our ponies are happy
Supporting volunteers with horse handling, leading and general yard tasks
Helping maintain high standards of safety, safeguarding and horse care
Assisting with coaching and rider activities where appropriate to your experience and qualifications
Reporting to and working closely with the Centre Manager

There is also the opportunity to progress through the RDA Coaching Pathway. Full support and mentoring can be provided for the right person who would like to develop their coaching skills and work towards becoming an RDA Coach.

Hours

Saturdays, 8:30am – 1:00pm

There may also be opportunities for additional hours across the centre for the right candidate.

Start Date

Immediate start available, with shadowing and a full handover provided to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

The successful applicant will be required to:

Complete in-house and RDA safeguarding training
Undergo an Enhanced DBS check
Work within all RDA and centre safeguarding, health and safety and horse welfare procedures

We are seeking reliable, experienced Freelance Grooms to provide maternity cover at our friendly livery yard in Durley, Southampton. We would happily consider two people for the role, covering approximately two- three split days a week, which must include weekends.
We are looking for someone comfortable with covering all yard duties including mucking out, turning out and bringing in and providing high-quality care. We have a friendly team, but there is also time when you would need to be happy to have sole charge when needed.

Farm Hand required 1 to 2 mornings/afternoons for ongoing maintenance and some livestock duties. Duties with fencing, simple building repairs, concreting, ditching. School Farm Equestrian, Lockerley, Nr Romsey, Hampshire is looking to employ an additional member of staff from September.

We are a livery yard providing care for 40 horses, all applicants must be experienced enough to be able to provide care/ cover essential to the smooth running of yard.

* Must have previous experience with horses.
* Need to be confident leading large horses to and from field.
* Be competent putting on various boots and rugs.
* Able to muck out shavings beds, quickly and thoroughly.
* Happy to sweep, weed and generally tidy.
* Own form of transport essential. No buses or trains.

The job is for a 32 hour week (4 days) which will include either a Saturday or a Sunday. Every 6 weeks you will need to cover a whole weekend.

7.30 till 5.00 each day with 30 minutes for coffee and 60 minutes for lunch ( 8 hours a day)

After a month you will be added to our late check rota, this takes about 20 minutes and can be done anytime after 7.00pm and is just one night each week.

NMW paid weekly.

I am looking for help with my 2 old Rescue Ponies due to my age and ongoing health problems. They are at my own yard on North Hayling. I have already found 2 wonderful helpers, but would still need someone for Sunday mornings and evenings and holiday cover plus the odd shift here and there. There is the option for more work in the longer term. The work is not heavy since they are small (Shetland and 13 hh), but due to their health problems I would need someone very reliable, careful and detail oriented.
